No X-Ray, no dye: new heart valve procedure could be safer for kidney patients
NCT ID NCT07453849
First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to replace the aortic heart valve in people with a leaky valve (aortic regurgitation). Instead of using X-rays and contrast dye, doctors will use only ultrasound (TEE) to guide the procedure. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and effective, especially for patients who cannot have contrast dye due to kidney problems. The study plans to enroll 30 adults with severe aortic regurgitation who are at high risk for surgery.
