NCT ID NCT05416853

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to perform carotid artery stenting—a procedure to open narrowed neck arteries and prevent strokes. One method uses an artery in the wrist (radial), the other in the groin (femoral). The trial will enroll 3000 adults with significant carotid narrowing to see if the wrist approach is as safe and effective as the standard groin approach. Key outcomes include rates of death, stroke, heart attack, and major bleeding within 30 days.
