First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study aims to reduce racial disparities in opioid overdose deaths by training peer recovery coaches and using an AI-driven texting tool. The coaches will send personalized texts to participants (Black and Latinx adults with opioid use disorder) to help them connect with treatment and social services. The pilot will test whether this approach is feasible and effective in a small group of 180 people in New York City.
