First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study aimed to create a tool that helps doctors decide which rheumatoid arthritis patients should get a CT scan to check for lung disease. Over 1300 adults with rheumatoid arthritis and at least two risk factors (like being male, a smoker, or older than 60) took part. Researchers used their medical information to build a model that predicts who is most likely to have lung scarring. The goal is to catch lung problems early and improve care.
