Quran recitation tested as fatigue relief for MS patients

NCT ID NCT07544303

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether listening to Quran recitation (Surah Yasin) for 30 minutes, three times a week for 4 weeks, can reduce fatigue and improve mental well-being in people with multiple sclerosis. 52 participants will be randomly assigned to either listen to the recitation or continue their usual care. Researchers will measure changes using standard fatigue and well-being scales.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Quran recitation (listening to Surah Yasin via mp3 player)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug way to help MS patients feel less tired and improve their mental well-being.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 52 participants. The effect may be small or due to relaxation rather than the recitation itself. Results may not apply to everyone with MS.
