Brain zaps and a pill: a new push to crush nicotine cravings

NCT ID NCT07145866

Summary

This study aims to see if combining a prescription quit-smoking medication (varenicline) with a non-invasive brain stimulation technique (TMS) is more effective at helping adults quit nicotine than the medication alone. Researchers will compare two groups: one gets the real medication and real TMS, while the other gets the real medication and a fake TMS treatment. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to more people successfully quitting cigarettes or vapes and having fewer cravings.
