Can a food compound tame sugar spikes?
NCT ID NCT00065676
Summary
This study tested whether quercetin, a natural substance found in foods like apples and onions, could help control blood sugar. Researchers gave 24 adults with obesity or type 2 diabetes either quercetin or a placebo during sugar tolerance tests to see if it slowed sugar absorption. The goal was to see if this approach could become a new way to manage blood sugar levels after meals.
