NCT ID NCT03476330
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether quercetin, a natural compound found in fruits and vegetables, can prevent or delay squamous cell carcinoma (a type of mouth cancer) in people with Fanconi anemia, a rare genetic disorder that raises cancer risk. 48 participants took quercetin pills, and researchers measured changes in cheek cells to see if cancer-related damage was reduced. The goal was to find a safer way to lower cancer risk without harsh treatments like chemotherapy or radiation.
