New hip block could speed recovery after replacement

NCT ID NCT07591311

First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026

Summary

This study looks at a new type of nerve block called the Quadro-Iliac Plane (QIP) block for people having hip replacement surgery. The goal is to see if it provides better pain relief and faster recovery compared to other nerve blocks currently used. About 80 adults will be observed after surgery to measure their pain, comfort, and ability to move. This is an observational study, meaning patients will receive the nerve block their anesthesiologist chooses as part of normal care.
