Your phone could save a Stranger's life: app alerts nearby citizens to cardiac emergencies

NCT ID NCT04806958

Summary

This study is testing whether a free phone app called PulsePoint can help save more lives from sudden cardiac arrest. When someone calls 911 for a suspected cardiac arrest in a public place, the app can alert CPR-trained citizens within a short distance so they can start help before paramedics arrive. Researchers are comparing outcomes between areas using the app alerts and areas using standard 911 procedures to see if the app leads to more bystander CPR or defibrillator use.
