Neck block may supercharge PTSD treatment

NCT ID NCT05534126

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether a nerve block injection in the neck (stellate ganglion block) could make cognitive processing therapy work better for PTSD. Sixty adults with PTSD and chronic pain received either the real injection or a placebo alongside one week of intensive therapy. The goal was to see if the combination reduces PTSD symptoms more than therapy alone.
