Peer power: new study tests buddy system for PTSD recovery

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a peer support program to a self-help version of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) can help women veterans with PTSD feel better and improve their mental well-being. About 100 women veterans with PTSD or subthreshold PTSD will take part. The goal is to find a low-cost, easy-to-access way to reduce PTSD symptoms and improve quality of life.
