NCT ID NCT07193329
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study follows 2,000 adults with various cancers to see if psychological distress (anxiety or depression) affects how well they stick to treatment, their health outcomes, and their quality of life. Participants complete standard questionnaires (GAD-7 and PHQ-9) and are tracked for three years. The goal is to understand whether emotional struggles can interfere with cancer care, which could guide better support for patients.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If this study finds a clear link between distress and worse outcomes, it could lead to better mental health support for cancer patients, potentially improving their treatment results and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may show associations but not guarantee that addressing distress will change outcomes.
