Summary
This early-stage trial will test whether a single dose of psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) is safe and practical for adults with opioid use disorder who are recovering from trauma surgery. Seventy participants will receive the drug during their hospital stay and be monitored for pain, mood, and opioid use. The main goals are to see if this approach is feasible and safe, with a focus on reducing pain and improving emotional recovery.
