Psilocybin plus D-Serine: a safer psychedelic combo?

NCT ID NCT07079930

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether adding D-serine to psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) can reduce its psychedelic effects while keeping it safe. Ten healthy adults aged 25-60 will receive one of two dose combinations and be closely monitored for side effects and changes in consciousness. The results will help design future studies for possible therapeutic uses.
