Researchers check pregnancy safety of common constipation drug

NCT ID NCT04961840

Summary

This study aims to find out if the constipation medicine prucalopride is safe for use during pregnancy. Researchers will look at existing health insurance records of about 100 pregnant women with constipation, comparing those who took prucalopride to those who took other medicines or none. The main goal is to see if taking this medicine is linked to any health problems for the mother or baby, like birth defects or pregnancy loss.
