New proton therapy aims to shield Kids' memories during brain tumor treatment

Summary
This study tests a new way to give proton radiation to children with low-grade glioma, a common brain tumor. The goal is to avoid the hippocampus, a brain area key for memory, to reduce long-term memory problems. About 74 children will receive this targeted radiation, and researchers will track their memory and thinking skills for up to 5 years.
