New drug cocktail aims to supercharge immune system against prostate cancer before surgery

NCT ID NCT03899987

First seen May 05, 2026 ยท Last updated May 05, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving a combination of drugs (enteric-coated aspirin, rintatolimod, and possibly interferon-alpha 2b) before prostate cancer surgery can boost the immune system to fight the cancer. About 12 men with early-stage prostate cancer will receive one of three treatment plans before their scheduled prostate removal. The goal is to see if these drugs increase cancer-fighting immune cells in the tumor and help prevent the cancer from coming back.
