Shorter radiation for prostate cancer recurrence: same safety, less time?

NCT ID NCT07483658

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a shorter course of radiotherapy (20 sessions over 4 weeks) is as safe and effective as the standard longer course (25 sessions over 5 weeks) for men whose prostate cancer has returned after surgery. About 434 men with a detectable PSA will be randomly assigned to one of the two schedules. The main goal is to see if the shorter treatment causes fewer or similar urinary and bowel side effects while still controlling the cancer.
