New scan aims to spot hidden prostate cancer sooner

NCT ID NCT07285057

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of PET scan can find aggressive prostate cancer better than the standard MRI scan in men who are being monitored instead of immediately treated. About 120 men with low-risk prostate cancer on active surveillance will get both the new PET scan and a standard MRI before a follow-up biopsy. The goal is to see if the PET scan helps doctors find dangerous cancer that the MRI might miss, which could lead to better treatment decisions.
