NCT ID NCT07612579

First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at 100,000 adults having surgery to find out if one type of anesthesia (propofol or sevoflurane) is better at preventing postoperative delirium—a state of confusion that can happen after surgery. Researchers will track who develops delirium in the first 5 days after their operation. The goal is to give doctors clear guidance on which anesthetic to use to reduce this serious complication, especially in older patients.
