This study investigates whether using a brain-wave monitor (BIS) to precisely control anesthesia depth during hand or arm surgery helps older adults (65+) recover their thinking skills faster. Participants receive either BIS-guided general anesthesia, standard clinically guided general anesthesia, or intravenous regional anesthesia without general anesthesia.
