Simple flip could keep COVID patients off ventilators
NCT ID NCT04358939
Summary
This study tested whether having conscious COVID-19 patients lie on their stomachs (prone position) while receiving high-flow oxygen through the nose could improve their breathing. The goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive method could help patients avoid needing to be put on a ventilator (intubation). Researchers enrolled 405 adult patients with COVID-19 pneumonia and breathing difficulties to compare outcomes.
