PAH patients may ditch frequent inhalers for a Once-Daily pill
NCT ID NCT07356375
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 32 adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) whose doctors decide to switch them from inhaled iloprost (taken several times a day) to oral selexipag (a pill). Researchers will use questionnaires to see if the switch improves quality of life, treatment satisfaction, and how well patients stick with their medication. A comparison group staying on iloprost will also be observed. No experimental treatments are involved—all care is routine.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Selexipag (oral medication)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that switching to a once-daily pill improves daily life and makes it easier for people with PAH to stick with their treatment.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational study (32 people) that does not test a new drug—it simply observes a routine switch. Results may not apply to everyone with PAH.
