Lung patients may soon do rehab from home via app
NCT ID NCT07666841
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a 12-week tele-pulmonary rehabilitation program, done at home via an app with a physiotherapist, helps people with chronic lung diseases start and stick with rehab better than going to a center. 90 patients will be randomly assigned to either remote rehab or standard center-based care. The goal is to see if remote rehab improves adherence, quality of life, and safety.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Tele-pulmonary rehabilitation program (supervised exercise and remote monitoring via app)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a convenient, home-based option for lung rehab, helping more patients stick with treatment and improve their daily lives.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study (90 participants) comparing remote to center-based rehab. It may not show clear benefits, and remote monitoring might miss some safety issues.
