Gut bacteria pill tested to slow type 1 diabetes

NCT ID NCT04335656

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily probiotic supplement can help people recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Researchers want to see if the probiotic reduces harmful inflammation in the body and helps preserve the body's own ability to produce some insulin. The study involves 60 participants aged 3-45 who will take either the probiotic or a placebo pill for six months.
