Simple probe press after prostate biopsy may cut bleeding and infection
NCT ID NCT07550985
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether pressing the ultrasound probe against the prostate for a short time after a biopsy can reduce bleeding and infection. About 324 men having their first prostate biopsy will be randomly assigned to receive probe compression or not. The goal is to see if this simple step lowers the chance of blood in urine or stool, and related infections.
