Frozen glove finger: a chill trick for prostate biopsy pain?
NCT ID NCT07462390
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if placing an ice-filled glove finger into the rectum for 5 minutes before a prostate biopsy could lower pain, anxiety, and stress hormone levels. It planned to include 84 first-time biopsy patients, comparing those getting ice plus standard care to those getting standard care alone. The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no results are available.
