Frozen glove trick may cool down prostate biopsy pain
NCT ID NCT07462390
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study aimed to see if placing an ice-filled glove finger in the rectum for 5 minutes before a prostate biopsy could lower pain, anxiety, and stress hormone levels. It planned to include 84 first-time biopsy patients, comparing those who got the ice treatment to those who received standard care. The study was withdrawn before any patients were enrolled, so no results are available.
