First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a program called PROADAPT for women aged 70 and older with advanced ovarian cancer who need surgery. The program includes exercise, nutrition advice, education, and medication management before and after surgery. The goal is to see if it reduces serious complications and improves quality of life. About 292 participants will be randomly assigned to the program or standard care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
PROADAPT program (behavioral intervention including exercise, nutrition, education, and medication management)
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could help elderly ovarian cancer patients recover faster and with fewer complications after surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively early-stage study (Phase NA) with 292 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The program is complex and may be hard to implement consistently across hospitals.
