New study tests if looser blood sugar control during labor is safe for moms with type 1 diabetes
NCT ID NCT07293715
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at two ways of managing blood sugar during labor in pregnant women with type 1 diabetes. One group will follow a strict target (70-110 mg/dL), while the other will have a more relaxed target (70-140 mg/dL). The goal is to see if the relaxed approach is safe for newborns by checking their blood sugar levels after birth. About 44 women will take part, and all will use an automated insulin pump during labor.
