First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a zinc-based spray (Gel X) can prevent painful mouth sores caused by radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. About 130 adults receiving radiation will use either the zinc spray or a sodium bicarbonate rinse. The goal is to see if the spray reduces how many people get mouth sores and helps them heal faster.
