First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests if giving a low-dose norepinephrine drip just before anesthesia can prevent low blood pressure during emergency surgery for a serious belly infection (peritonitis). About 60 adults with stable blood pressure after initial treatment will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo. The main goal is to see how long blood pressure stays too low during the start of surgery.
