Simple neck scan may predict anesthesia danger

NCT ID NCT07488182

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a quick, painless neck ultrasound done before surgery can predict if a patient's blood pressure will drop dangerously after they are put to sleep. The researchers will measure blood flow in the carotid artery and see if it relates to low blood pressure during anesthesia. The goal is to help doctors identify at-risk patients and improve safety during surgery.
