Hospital walks could keep seniors stronger, study hopes

NCT ID NCT06802289

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests whether older hospital patients (50+) who get extra visits from a movement specialist will walk more, become less frail, and leave the hospital sooner. About 80 participants will either receive the usual once-daily visit or multiple check-ins. The goal is to see if more activity can prevent the loss of strength and independence that often happens during a hospital stay.
