Virtual Tai-Chi program aims to stop dangerous falls in liver patients
NCT ID NCT05794555
Summary
This study tested a two-part program to prevent serious falls and other health problems in people with advanced liver scarring (cirrhosis). Over 24 weeks, 230 participants tried different combinations of a common medication (lactulose) and virtual Tai-Chi exercise classes. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce falls, hospital visits, and other complications compared to other treatments.
