Summary
This study tested whether a drug called denosumab could prevent bone loss that often happens after weight loss surgery. Researchers gave the drug or a placebo to 36 older adults who had either gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy surgery. The main goal was to see if the drug helped maintain bone density in the hip over time.
