Scientists test TB drug safety for patients with failing kidneys

NCT ID NCT03896750

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a tuberculosis drug called pretomanid is processed by the body in people with different levels of kidney impairment. It involved 12 participants, including healthy volunteers and people with mild to severe kidney problems. Researchers gave a single dose of the drug and then measured its levels in the blood and urine to check for safety and see if kidney function changed how the body handled the medication.
