NCT ID NCT07316426

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether a program of exercise, weight loss, and medical optimization before ventral hernia surgery can reduce complications. About 130 adults with hernias 4-8 cm wide will either join the program or have surgery as usual. Researchers will track complications at 3 and 12 months after surgery and study tissue samples to understand how the body responds.
