First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether giving children a single dose of magnesium before tonsil surgery could reduce confusion and agitation when they wake up. 120 children aged 4 to 7 took part. Half received magnesium syrup and half received a placebo (lemon juice). Researchers measured agitation using a standard scale in the recovery room.
