Nervous before jaw surgery? it could make swelling and pain worse
NCT ID NCT07439679
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how feeling anxious before corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) affects your body during the operation and your recovery afterward. Researchers will measure anxiety levels in 45 patients before surgery, then track heart rate and blood pressure during surgery, and check pain, swelling, and mouth opening for up to a month after. The goal is to see if higher anxiety leads to more discomfort and slower healing, which could help doctors improve care before and after surgery.
