First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding radiation before surgery to standard chemotherapy can shrink tumors more effectively in people with locally advanced breast cancer. It includes 50 participants with Luminal or triple-negative subtypes who did not respond well to initial chemo. The goal is to improve survival and increase the chance of breast preservation.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

preoperative radiotherapy

What this could lead to

If successful, this approach could increase the chance of breast preservation and improve survival for patients with hard-to-treat breast cancer.

What could go wrong

This is a small early-phase study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Adding radiation before surgery also carries risks like increased side effects.
