First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether combining prenatal stretching with kinesiotaping (a special elastic tape) can reduce low back pain, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life in pregnant women. Thirty-four women with back pain between 20 and 34 weeks of pregnancy will be randomly assigned to receive either stretching plus taping or stretching alone. The goal is to see if the combined approach offers extra relief.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- stretching exercises and kinesiotaping
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to reduce back pain and improve daily life for pregnant women.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 34 participants, so results may not apply to all pregnant women. The combination approach may not prove better than stretching alone.
