Brain scan dress rehearsal: setting the stage for future Parkinson's and paralysis trials
NCT ID NCT05698810
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study is a practice run to see how well different brain and heart scans (MEG, MRI, EEG, ECG) work in healthy volunteers, people with Parkinson's disease, and those with paralysis. Researchers want to make sure the equipment and procedures are ready for larger future studies. About 150 participants will undergo these scans to help design better clinical trials down the road.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study will help design better future clinical trials for Parkinson's disease and paralysis by ensuring the equipment and procedures work smoothly.
What could go wrong
This is a very early feasibility study, not testing any treatment. It only checks if the equipment and methods are practical, so there is no direct benefit to participants.
