Can a Pre-Surgery boost help pancreatic cancer patients recover faster?
NCT ID NCT07478185
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether a structured program of exercise, nutrition counseling, and support—called prehabilitation—can help adults with pancreatic cancer get stronger before surgery. Twenty participants will follow the program while receiving chemotherapy before their operation. The goal is to see if patients can stick with the program and whether it improves physical function and recovery after surgery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Multimodal prehabilitation (exercise, nutrition counseling, immunonutrition, and supportive care)
What this could lead to
If this program works, it could help patients feel stronger and recover faster after pancreatic cancer surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program requires significant effort and may not be feasible for all patients.
