Can starting prehab early boost ovarian cancer outcomes?
NCT ID NCT07509814
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two types of prehabilitation (exercise, nutrition, and psychological support) for 225 women with advanced ovarian cancer. One group starts prehab early during chemotherapy, while the other starts just before surgery. The goal is to see if early prehab reduces surgical complications and improves how well the tumor responds to chemo.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
prehabilitation program (exercise, nutrition, and psychological support)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that starting prehabilitation earlier helps patients recover faster from surgery and respond better to chemotherapy.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial that hasn't started recruiting yet. The benefits seen in other cancers may not apply here, and the program requires significant patient commitment.
