Pre-Surgery boot camp for seniors: can it boost recovery?
NCT ID NCT05752474
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a multi-component prehabilitation program—including physical therapy, nutrition counseling, and meditation—is feasible for older adults (70+ or 65+ with high risk) scheduled for major elective surgery. The program aimed to improve strength and recovery before the operation. Researchers enrolled 30 participants and measured how many completed at least half of the planned sessions. The goal was to see if such a program could be delivered successfully, not to prove it works.
