NCT ID NCT00486629

Summary

This study tests whether a community-based exercise and healthy eating program during and after pregnancy can help prevent excessive weight gain, obesity, and type 2 diabetes in mothers and their children. It involves 1,000 pregnant women in urban areas who join before 20 weeks of pregnancy. The goal is to see if lifestyle changes improve pregnancy outcomes and reduce long-term health risks for both mother and child.
