Can exercise and diet during pregnancy stop diabetes for two generations?
NCT ID NCT00486629
Summary
This study tests whether a community-based exercise and healthy eating program during and after pregnancy can reduce the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes for both mothers and their children. The program involves 1,000 pregnant women in urban areas who begin before 20 weeks of pregnancy. Researchers will track whether the lifestyle changes prevent excessive weight gain during pregnancy and related complications.
