First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether liver ultrasound and elastography (a type of ultrasound that measures stiffness) can help predict a serious liver condition called sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS) before patients receive a stem cell transplant. Researchers observed 114 adults who were getting a transplant and tracked how many developed SOS. The goal was to see if these imaging tests could catch early warning signs.
