Summary
This study aimed to find early signs that could predict which shingles patients would develop long-lasting nerve pain called postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). Researchers followed 151 adults with shingles for 3 months, collecting detailed health information and blood samples to look for patterns. The goal was to build a prediction model using this data to identify high-risk patients earlier.
