Summary
This study tests a new process to help older adults (age 80+) get a comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) before major surgery. What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance

What this could lead to
If successful, this could show a practical way to help more older adults get a thorough health check before major surgery, potentially leading to better surgical outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 42 participants, so results may not apply to all hospitals or patients. It focuses on process changes, not direct health outcomes.
